KRAFTON Acquires Tango Gameworks; Plans To Continue the Hi-Fi Rush IP

In a surprising turn of events last night, KRAFTON, the company behind PUGB, has announced that they have officially acquired Tango Gameworks, the company behind hit titles such as Ghostwire: Tokyo and, more notably, Hi-Fi Rush.

In case you need a refresher, Microsoft announced back in May of this year that they were shutting down multiple studios, including Tango Gameworks, the creators of Hi-Fi Rush, a game that has won multiple awards and received a lot of positive reviews, including from us.

After the outcry that caused a lot of fans to hate Microsoft, many have wondered just if we’ll see a Hi-Fi Rush 2 or any of Tango’s IPs at all. But with the acquisition, KRAFTON is now the full owner of the studio, including its IPs.

In a press release, KRAFTON states that it intends to collaborate with Xbox and ZeniMax to ensure a smooth transition and maintain continuity at Tango Gameworks, allowing the talented team to continue developing the Hi-Fi RUSH IP and explore future projects, continuing its commitment to innovation and delivering fresh and exciting experiences for fans.

This acquisition will have no impact on the existing game catalog of Tango’s previously published games, such as The Evil WithinThe Evil Within 2Ghostwire: Tokyo, and the original Hi-Fi RUSH game.

Hopefully this means we can see a Hi-Fi Rush 2 or a Tokyo Ghostwire sequel in the future. We’ll keep you updated on more news about it.
