Spiral House, Remedy, and Zan Creative have teamed to give Fortnite players an experience of Alan Wake, as retold based on original events exclusively on a special island: Alan Wake: Flashback.
The special content is built using Fortnite’s assets to give players a different experience about horror gaming. Fans who have previously played Remedy’s flagship horror title will find many familiar things in Flashback. Particularly, the various places set within Bright Falls, including the Oh Deer Diner and the Cauldron Lake, and unsurprisingly, the signature use of a flashlight. The overall experience of which would be a refreshing recap of the start of a horror series.
Newcomers will especially love Alan Wake: Flashback, too, as they are introduced to one of the genre’s most memorable entries. This not only coincides with the upcoming Halloween event that will overtake Fortnite once again. But also the release of the series’ sequel, Alan Wake 2, on October 27, 2023.
To access Alan Wake: Flashback for free, Fortnite players will need to use the game’s Discover feature while using the code: 3426-5561-3374.
As fascinating as the crossover is, the special island content is not the only Alan Wake content coming to the battle royale game. Starting October 26, 2023, Fortnite players will be able to purchase the Alan Wake outfit from the Item Shop. In addition, Alan’s messenger bag will also be making an appearance as a back bling in-game. This comes as the Fortnightmares season takes its effect throughout the game.
