The Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2023 was just held In London, revealing up-and-coming content for the beloved Square Enix MMORPG. From the fifth expansion, a new job class, multiple crossovers, new races, new places to explore, etc., there is plenty to expect for FFXIV in the coming months.
First on the list is the arrival of Final Fantasy XIV’s fifth expansion, Dawntrail. While the next extension to the next game might still be months away from release, the date is at least now known to be Summer 2024.
To coincide with the launch of Dawntrail is also another job class for players to check out and try—the dual-sword wielding Viper. There is not much yet known about what this new class will offer apart from letting players enjoy a pair of swords. But the trailer showed how cool it would be to do so.
There are also a handful of other features that will arrive in Final Fantasy XIV alongside Dawntrail. Namely, the increase of the level cap from 90 to 100, the introduction of new areas (Tuliyollal and Kozama’uka) and dungeons, new allied tribe (Moblins), and new battle content (sidequests, Hunts, Treasure Hunts, and FATES).
As the MMORPG title also reaches version 7.X, a new crossover series with Final Fantasy XI will appear—notably, Echoes of Vana’diel.
However, that is not the only crossover slated for FFXIV. Earlier, it was announced that it will also have a crossover with Final Fantasy XVI, specifically “The Path Infernal” questline.
Starting October 31, 2023, as part of the game’s version 6.51 update, Final Fantasy XIV will collaborate with Fall Guys for a similar mini-game gameplay.
