Fortnite: What To Expect in Chapter 5 Season 3

With only a few days left of the Greek god themed Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2, fans of the battle royale game are eagerly looking forward to what’s in store for next season. Chapter 5 Season 3 is full of new collaborations to look forward to and will be reportedly be called “Fortnite Wrecked” – featuring a post apocalyptic theme. Here’s what players can expect when the new season arrives later this week.

Fortnite x Fallout Collaboration

If the giant Fallout power armour helmet wasn’t enough of a giveaway, Fortnite has specifically name dropped the Brotherhood of Steel in their promos for the next season. The Brotherhood of Steel, a group of power armour clad wasteland paladins, have a strong presence in the Fallout games and the recent Prime Video adaptation.

It’s still unclear what skins and items we can expect to see from this collaboration, but it’s safe to say that a skin from the Fallout franchise will make an appearance in the battle pass for next season. Players should expect at least one POI, likely one or multiple Vault-Tec themed vaults to loot up in.

Confirmed Collaboration Event with Marvel

On the TikTok version of the teaser for next season, fans spotted copyright belonging to Marvel. The teaser trailer is only a glimpse of the yet to be released full trailer, fans have joked that the sandstorm looming over the Fortnite island is none other than the Spider-Man villain Sandman. However, only time will tell.

With the popularity of X-Men 97 over the past few weeks many fans are hoping to see more X-Men in the item shop. Cyclops, Jubilee, Beast, Legion, and Forge are just a few of the mutants on the team yet to arrive in Fortnite, alongside a heavily requested Magneto skin. With the “apocalypse” desert theme this season, an appearance from the X-Men villain Apocalypse would be rather fitting.

The most likely case is the arrival of new skins for Deadpool and Wolverine. Both characters have had skins in Fortnite before, but were only unlockable from previous battle passes and the Fortnite Crew, making them impossible to get anymore. For that reason, fans are sure to snap up new versions of the characters in their outfits from the upcoming Deadpool and Wolverine movie.

After a roadmap for the Fortnite’s plans this year were leaked, Chapter 5 Season 4 is reportedly going to be a Marvel themed season – including appearances from the Fantastic Four.

New Vehicles: Monster Trucks, Mad Max & More

The next season of Fortnite: Battle Royale promises new vehicles galore. Nothing but a few some glimpses have been teased thus far, but from the trailers revealed so far players can expect Mad Max style wasteland vehicles to be all over the new map. Rusty armoured trucks, spiky motorcycles, rickety dune buggies, the works.

The most anticipated teased vehicle is a potential monster truck. After showing off a real life Battle Bus at the Monster Jam World Finals XXIII last week, fans are eager to see monster trucks show up in-game.

Mad Max / Furiosa Collaboration

Speaking of Mad Max, an apocalyptic desert themed Fortnite season is the perfect time to see a potential crossover. With Anya Taylor Joy starring in the upcoming Furiosa movie playing a younger version of the character of the same name from Mad Max: Fury Road, there’s rumours of a Furiosa skin alongside a Max skin (Mel Gibson or Tom Hardy) hitting the item shop this season.

Pirates of the Caribbean Collaboration Coming July

When Epic Games and Disney announced a new partnership, it was only a matter of time until some large Disney franchises made their way into Fortnite. Notable Fortnite leaker HYPEX on X (formerly Twitter) shared confirmation of an upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean collaboration coming in July.

Captain Jack Sparrow is the clear choice for a playable skin, but the likes of Davy Jones, Hector Barbossa, or Elizabeth Swann could make their way to the item shop as well with a bounty of pirate themed items.

Metallica Takes Over Fortnite Festival

After it’s debut in December 2023, Fortnite Festival has had a consistent player base enjoying the Rock Band inspired game mode. The likes of The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, and Billie Eilish have had their own events in Fortnite Festival so far – now it’s time for Metallica to take the stage.

After an image of the aforementioned road map of Fortnite’s plans for the year was leaked, fans were able to spot the band’s logo alongside the Pirate’s of the Caribbean collab. Here’s @FNChiefAko’s tweet showcasing their theory:

Metallica are no strangers to Fortnite. Their song Master of Puppets has a featured emote in-game not long after the song had a resurgence in popularity from the finale of Stranger Things Season 4.

Upcoming Fortnite Festival Jam Tracks leaked

According to a leak by @BeastFNCreative, the upcoming songs for the Fortnite Festival, include artists such as Toto, Aviici, Macklemore, Ed Sheeran, Post Malone and Dua Lipa.

KPOP fans can look forward to the song SOUR CANDY by Lady Gaga ft. BLACKPINK to hit the item shop at some point soon, according to these data miners.

Proximity Chat Coming Soon to Fortnite Creative

One of the most popular mechanics in games like Call of Duty and Lethal Company is proximity chat. The ability to talk to people in-game depending on how close they are to you is a fun mechanic, one Fortnite has yet to implement.

Unfortunately, it seems the feature will only come to Fortnite Creative for now. This feature is still on its experimental phase on by Epic Games, and the goal is for players to create experiences that put proximity chat to good use as creatively as possible, over security concerns.

That’s all we know about Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 for now, but keep checking back here for all the latest updates.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 will end on May 24 at 2 am ET / 11 pm PT / 6 pm GMT. Fortnite is still free to play on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
