Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.2 “Then Wake To Weep” Launches on PS5 May 8

HoYoverse today announced during the Special Program that Honkai: Star Rail‘s first ever major Version 2.2 update, titled “Then Wake to Weep”, will arrive on May 8, 2024 on PlayStation 5.

In this update, the adventures of the Trailblazer in Penacony will finally reach its climax. After the events of Version 2.1, a sense of unease has lingered among Penacony’s guests, due to the Family’s hidden secrets and threats. Additionally, in Version 2.2, players will encounter another The Great Septimus, poised to deliver a remarkable performance at the Charmony Festival.

As the story reaches its climax, several new Dreamscapes will be introduced, such as Dreamflux Reef, a barren location that is a far cry from previous Penaconian fantasies. While venturing into this new domain, Trailblazers will reunite with some unexpected friends.

New characters will also be joining the Trailblazer in his journey. The first of them is Miss Robin, the Halovian songstress renowned for her captivating beauty and exceptional talent. She is a Physical character following the path of Harmony. During combat, Robin seamlessly weaves her melodies, providing invaluable support and buffs to all allies.

When she unleashes her Ultimate, Robin belts out a morale-boosting number and enters a performative state. In this state, all allies gain the ability to act once more immediately, accompanied by enhanced buffs. Moreover, while her Ultimate is active, Robin inflicts additional damage upon the enemy after each ally attack.

The second character is Boothill, a cyborg cowboy brimming with optimism and untamed spirit. He is a Physical Character following the path of the Hunt. Boothill has a unique combat philosophy where he engages in duels with a single enemy.

During the duel, Boothill taunts the enemy, and both parties to the duel suffer increased damage from each other. When Boothill unleashes his Ultimate, he not only inflicts Physical Weakness on his target but also deals significant damage and postpones their actions.

Robin will be available in the first half of Warp banners in Version 2.2. Alongside her banner, Topaz and Numby will be available in a reprint. As for Boothill, he will be available on the second half of banners, alongside a rerun banner for Fu Xuan.

And finally, HoYoverse confirmed a slew of system optimizations for Version 2.2. Firstly, a new function to showcase battle records will be added to the Trailblazer profile page. Players can also upload their stage clearing lineups to show to their friends, or keep it private.

Secondly, the Team Edit Function will allow players to view the status of all their setups in the Pre-Battle Interface. And finally, in Version 2.2, players can add tags to characters, ensuring that they always appear at the top of the list.
