Insomniac Games got the Puerto Rican flag wrong in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Spider-Man 2

There are plenty of Puerto Rican influences in Spider-Man 2, which displays Miles Morales’s heritage as a half-Puerto Rican. From recipes to interior design and to wall art, there is a part in-game that is ostensively a tribute to the Puerto Rican culture. However, it appears that Insomniac Games has got one thing wrong—the Puerto Rican flag.

Fans immediately spotted the error soon after they started playing Spider-Man 2 as the mistake is plastered in Miles’s room. Instead of the Puerto Rican flag, the developers seem to have patterned the Cuban banner instead. To be fair, it is an easy mistake to make as both the Puerto Rican and Cuban flags share the same pattern. The only difference is the colors painted on each flag, which is symbolic of the two nation’s different identity.

The Puerto Rican flag employs a blue triangle, with red-and-white alternating stripes. The Cuban flag, meanwhile, has a red triangle, with blue-and-white alternating stripes, as is seen in Miles Morales’ room.

In response to the blunder, Insomniac Games has promised that a fix will be coming for the game soon.
