LEGO Fortnite Adds in New Fishing Feature in Latest Update

LEGO Fortnite

LEGO Fortnite has just got a new update, and it lets players catch fish, along with a few improvements.

Dubbed Gone Fishin’, Version 28.30 adds fish, four various tiers of fishing rods, as well as seafood recipes. In addition, there is also a new quality-of-life improvement with the introduction of the Compass into the game.

Catching fish as part of the survival element of the game as a theme, the fishing rod comes center stage. And like many games that feature this handy tool, the fishing rod is made differently, based on tier. In the case of LEGO Fortnite, there are four: common, uncommon, rare, and epic. Respectively, Cord, Knotroot Rod, Flexwood Rod, and Frostpine Rod.

The key to getting the rod is the working bench. As such, the player must have the right level to use it. Out of all four, Frostpine Rod offers the best experience, as far as efficiency goes. So, it is always ideal to aim for the best tool as soon as possible.

Along with the fishing rod, 15 types of fish will be introduced:

  • Orange Flopper
  • Green Flopper
  • Vendetta Flopper
  • Blue Flopper
  • Silver Thermal Fish
  • Purple Thermal Fish
  • Black and Blue Shield Fish
  • Raven Thermal Fish
  • Yellow Slurp Fish
  • Blue Slurp Fish
  • Purple Slurp Fish
  • Molten Spicy Fish
  • Cuddle Jelly Fish
  • Blue Small Fry
  • Slurp Jelly Fish

Fish will have multiple uses in-game. When used with a processor, a fish can become a Fish Filet. Cooked on a grill, like the one at Smoked Fry Fish, you get a variety of possible dishes. Lastly, it can also be used as a Bait Bucket, too, and comes in four different tiers, as well.

As far as quality-of-life improvements, the latest update debuts the Glass resource to the game. This can be used to make a Compass, which adds a HUD to the game for easier navigation. It can also be upgraded to an Advanced Compass to add markers to the HUD. Lastly, it can be also used as an ingredient in making a Spyglass, which lets you view distant objects when employed.
