Fortnite just got some cool new additions that keep its audiences immersed. But while the battle royale game is not a stranger to features that simply come and go, Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival won’t be one of those. They will be “here to stay,” according to Epic.
In putting it simply, said new features are not your run-off-the-mill limited-time features but are instead full games within Fortnite itself. Sharing the idea in public, Epic posted on X/Twitter, saying:
Fear not, Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival are here to stay—with regular updates.
Anybody who has played Fortnite in its latest iteration will understand where the presumption might come from. Being among the list of options seen as tiles on the Fortnite homepage, said new features can be easily mistaken as just other inclusions to the game’s roster of temporary features.
Meanwhile, Fortnite boss Donald Mustard shared how the game they’ve been developing has finally met its goal of becoming a “place” rather than a game. While it may not yet be in its entirety, the objective has become somewhat apparent.
It was such a HUGE, audacious, vision. We knew it would take YEARS and SO much work on so many fronts.
In his further revelation, Mustard said that while the plans have “changed and evolved” over time, the intention is for the entire process to take six years.
