Capcom has recently announced that as of March 31, 2023, worldwide cumulative sales of the Monster Hunter series has now surprassed over 100 million units worldwide.
If you don’t know, this series of action RPGs consists of hunting action games that pit players against giant monsters in beautiful natural environments. Amazingly, roughly 25% of those sales numbers can be attributed to Monster Hunter World, which became best selling title for Capcom a month after its original release.
Furthermore, cumulative sales of Monster Hunter Rise have surpassed 15 million units while those for the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak expansion have exceeded 8 million units.
The latest announced title that is planned for a 2025 release is Monster Hunter Wilds, which, according to Capcom, promises a next generation for the franchise. Furthermore, on June 14th next month, the Stories series will also be released.
Truly a remarkable milestone. I extend my congratulations to the team.
