Bandai Namco are really building up the hype for the newest Tekken game, Tekken 8, with their character reveal trailers. The latest one features the mystically powered fortune teller, Zafina. She first appeared on the main roster of Tekken 6 as the sole protector of the Imperial Tomb. At the time she was a new face with a lot of potential. She then appeared as a DLC character in 7, where she sealed part of Azazel in her arm. Now, years later, Zafina is back on the main roster and looking more powerful than ever. It’s clear she’s benefiting quite a lot from her fusion with Azazel, but it’s unclear at what cost, yet. The trailer sees her beating down Kazuya before trying to hold back Azazel during a confrontation with Claudio. With how fast these character trailers are releasing, it’s clear this game is going to steamroll its way to being one of the best fighting games of the year, if not THE best.
Tekken 8 is set to release January 26th
