NIS America has recently revealed the battle and exploration systems of the REYNATIS game. On their official website, you can view some of the systems and stats utilized both in battle and when exploring the overworld.
During Battle, players can switch between two modes: Suppression Mode and Liberation Mode. In the former mode, all enemy attacks are slowed and can be easily dodged with a single button press, and when switching to the latter one, you can attack enemies in one fell swoop, but you will be defenseless, so change carefully.
There can be up to three party members, and each of them have unique abilities that are useful depending on the situation at hand. Furthermore, you can also find Wizarts across Shibuya, which are a kind of graffiti that grants players new, magical powers. These can be converted into Skills and Abilities which can be equipped in the main menu.
Next we have the overworld exploration. While exploring Shibuya, players can either use Suppression Mode, where they move around with their true identity concealed as a normal citizen and Liberation Mode, which allows you to use magic to move quicky, but comes with the risk of being reported by citizens and hunted down by elite M.E.A. officers.
As you walk through, you’ll notice a purple aura around people. This is known as Malice, which is a visualization of animosity towards wizards. In places with a higher level of Malice, actions may be restricted, such as obtaining certain Wizerts. To lower the level of Malice, players must complete side quests.
Lastly, we have Stress Levels. Stress accumulates depending on the content of conversations and other activities. The higher your Stress, the higher your attack. However, if this stat exceeds 100%, your mental state will become unstable and you’ll be forced into the Liberation State.
REYNATIS is a modern-day magical story about a young wizard who seeks freedom and another who seeks order. As their ideals clash, they will see themselves in the opposite sides of a big conflict.
The game includes big names of the JRPG industry like storywriter Kazushige Nojima, and Yoko Shimomura. Both are well-known for their involvement in the Kingdom Hearts franchise.
REYNATIS is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on September 27, 2024.
