Square Enix has shared a new video for SaGa Emerald Beyond. This time we get to watch an interview with the game’s creative staff.
Emerald Beyond is the latest entry in the classic turn-based RPG franchise that has been around since 1989. It evolves various systems from Scarlet Grace and provides 17 unique worlds to explore.
With a unique timeline system, the game demands players to think ahead about positioning and the consequences of their actions.
In the video, we get to see digital sales manager Megan Pelt talk to producer Masanori Ichikawa, director Akitoshi Kawazu, and localization director Neil Broadley.
Ichikawa points to how the game is the first brand new title in the series to receive a simultaneous worldwide release. He also suggests players to choose the character that appeals more to them.
Neil discusses how the game feels like it offers the freedom of tabletop games. When discussing the localization, he argues that the most important aspect is to offer the same emotions as the original Japanese players should while giving a proper sense of the world.
Kawazu discusses how SaGa Emerald Beyond makes an effort to preserve the uniqueness of the franchise but make it all more intuitive for modern players. He also expresses his joy in having players enjoy the series at the same time worldwide.
