Suikoden Creator Yoshitaka Murayama Passes Away

Rabbit & Bear Studios announced that president Yoshitaka Murayama has passed away. The creator was responsible for works such as the Suikoden series of JRPGs.

Years after leaving Konami, Yoshitaka Murayama was currently working on the upcoming Eiyuden Chronicle. The game’s coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on April 23, 2024.

This spiritual successor to the classic JRPG series Suikoden has been a passionate project for him and his colleagues. The team includes other people who had been working with him for years, such as Junko Kawano, Junichi Murakami, and Osamu Komuta.

Yoshitaka Murayama passed away on February 6, 2024 as a complication of his ongoing illness. The family requested for some privacy during this mourning moment but the company has shared a letter to fans.
