Developer Grimorio of Games has revealed the first trailer for Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection. The remake will come to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in late Summer 2024.
Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection is a 3D remake to the 2021 title. The game was a stretch goal in the company’s crowdfunding campaign for the sequel, Revenant.
While the original Sword of the Necromancer had top-down pixel graphics, the new edition will reimagine the whole experience in 3D. It uses the engine and base framework of Revenant, giving the developer a little more time to experience the tools.
In the game, players assume the role of Tama. This young woman embarks on a quest to resurrect her lover, leading to many battles in her tragic endeavor.
As she fights many enemies, she also learns how to use the defeated monsters as allies. It’s up to the player to customize them and make them even more useful in battle.
