Developer Surgent Studios and publisher Electronic Arts announced Tales of Kenzera: ZAU during The Game Awards 2023. The action platformer is coming to PlayStation 5 on April 23, 2024.
Part of the EA Originals lineup, Tales of Kenzera tells the story of a young shaman called Zau. As he deals with the grief of losing his dad, he bargains with the God of Death to bring him back to life.
In a land filled with ancestral spirits, Zau will have to face three powerful creatures who feel oddly familiar. Strong ties to myths and cosmic powers are part of the experience.
The game’s developer Surgent Studios was founded by actor Abubakar Salim. The story is inspired by his own experience with grief and the culture of the Bantu cultures.
