Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s retired military cousin who served as a Navy SEAL for 16 years has joined Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 as part of the new Warrior Pack DLC. His entry into the game marks the first for a real-life military to become a playable operator in-game.
In addition to adding new content to the recently released game, the launch of the DLC is aimed at supporting the Call of Duty Endowment (C.O.D.E) charity program. The charity aims to help military veterans transition to civilian jobs after leaving the service.
Revealed only by the name of “Ben,” Johnson’s cousin has served in the military for nearly two decades. As a member of the SEAL Team Six, Ben has been in some of the most perilous locations in the world in the name of duty—namely, Afghanistan, Africa, and Iraq. As a decorated soldier, Ben has been a recipient of multiple Bronze Stars as well as a Purple Heart after sustaining an injury while on duty.
Bearing the Operator name “Koa King,” Samoans, or at least those of understanding of the Samoan language will easily spot the new operator with Samoan heritage, which Dwayne Johnson’s family is of.
“He served our great nation and now he serves the veteran community as the inspiration behind the Call Of Duty Endowment Warrior Pack, which incorporates his military service and our Samoan heritage,” per Johnson on social media.
Aside from the Koa King operator himself, the Warrior Pack includes the Dethroned and 6-Karat weapon blueprints, the Island Styling vehicle skin, and the Lion Pride emblem. Furthermore, there is also the Bone Skewer charm, Triple Bone Trident, and the Rolling Mane calling card in the package. Lastly, there is also the 1-hour-long double player XP and double weapon XP to leverage, as part of the inclusions.
For only $10, players can own the Warrior Pack DLC whose proceeds will completely go to the Call of Endowment charity.
