Capcom Releases New Street Fighter 6 Trailer Featuring Ed

Since the Summer of last year, Street Fighter 6 has been on a lot of fighting game fans’ minds. It won fighting game of the year and recently passed the 3 million copies sold milestone.

Its first DLC character, A.K.I., was released towards the end of last year. Well, now the time has come for the next DLC character to join the fight. Meet Ed, one of the fastest boxers in Street Fighter canon. He’s the leader of Neo-Shadaloo, a second-generation organization that, according to Ed, exists to help those hurt by the original Shadaloo. He was introduced in Street Fighter IV as a non-playable character before making his playable debut in Street Fighter V.

Ed’s appearance in Street Fighter V.

The new trailer features a World Tour character riding the subway before seeing Ed running from some box gang goons before unleashing a smack down with his psycho powers, a type of power used by villains JP and M. Bison. I’m a big fan of the new redisign, as I found his last appearance to make him look like M. Bison junior, in the worst ways. Will Ed stay an ally to the good guys and fix the damage done by Shadaloo, or will he follow in the footsteps of others who possess this power? I guess we’ll find out in February.
