Sony adds “invitation-only” requirement to PlayStation 5 free game promo

PlayStation 5

Some weeks ago, Sony announced that it is giving away a free game for new PlayStation 5 owners, possibly hyping new consumers to own one. But a recent report by MP1s suggests that the company has discreetly decided to keep the offer to be “INVITATION-ONLY”.

The “Updater Program” originally offered to will-be new PlayStation 5 owners in the United States a free copy of a game from a roster of available titles. Largely, AAA titles, such as Horizon Forbidden West, God of War Ragnarok, and Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut. The qualified user can then pick a game of his choice, which will be made available via a download.

However, a recent update with the said program is now suggesting that the promotion is valid only to more select users by being an “invitation-only”. Meaning to say, that even if you live in the States and are rushed to pick a console, then there is a likelihood that you will not be given a promised free game with your PlayStation 5.

Per the updated guideline:

BY INVITATION ONLY.
